Prime Video to launch new Nigerian movie “Water and Garri,” starring superstar singer Tiwatope Omolara Savage popularly known as Tiwa Savage, exclusively in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide in 2024.
The plot unfolds around Aisha (Tiwa), an ambitious fashion designer who, after a decade in the U.S., returns to her homeland following a family tragedy. Back home, she grapples with heightened violence and tension, reconnecting with family, old friends, and a past love. As she confronts her scars and the guilt she left behind, the drama, shot in Cape Coast, Ghana, captivates with compelling cinematography and storytelling. Notable cast members include Mike Afolarin (Far From Home), Andrew Bunting (Dynamite), and Jemima Osunde (New Money).
Tiwa expressed her fulfillment in realizing her dream of taking her film from conception to a global launch on Prime Video. She shared her excitement about revealing a vulnerable side of herself that she has never shown before.
