The Best Accessories – Final Fantasy XVI Guide

There are so many incredible weapons and accessories in Final Fantasy 16 that it’s hard to know what’s worth spending your hard-earned Gil on and what’s not. On this page, you will find a list of all of the best accessories in FF16, as well as instructions on exactly how to get them.

This list doesn’t contain any of the Rings of Assistance. Though, if you’re looking for a significant boost to make combat easier, they are a great option. Instead, this page will focus on accessories you collect or purchase throughout your adventure.

Berserker Ring

Berserker Ring
Temporarily increases attack proficiency with each precision dodge.
The berserkers of southern Ash, known for their fearlessness on the field of battle, were known to wear these rings not only on their fingers, but pierced all over their bodies from head to toe. Scholars now believe the unnatural courage they displayed was a result of extended exposure to the concentrated aether imbued in the jewlery, that poisoned the blood of its non-Bearer wearers and induced madness that ultimately became associated with battle frenzy.

The Berserker Ring is one of the best accessories in FF16, not only because of its effect, but because you can collect it so early in the game. All you have to do to get your hands on the Berserker Ring is unlock the Patron’s Whisper and collect it as a reward for earning 85 Renown.

Each side or main quest you do can earn you anywhere between 10-50 Renown, so collecting the Berserker Ring is a matter of polishing off two to three side quests if you haven’t unlocked it already.

Wearing the Berserker Ring significantly increases the speed and strength of your attacks for a couple of seconds after you perform a precision dodge, giving you the chance to land several combos before the effect wears off.

Check out our guide on precision dodging to brush up on your skills and make the most out of your Berserker Ring.

Adamantite Gloves

Adamantite Gloves
Inreases maximum HP by 500.
Unlike most wristwear which, admittedly, only protects one’s wrists, gauntlets cover both lower arm and hand. Any drop in mobility is made up for by an increased threshold of pain.

The Adamantite Gloves increase Clive’s HP by 500 points. That is a hefty amount that makes a noticeable difference in combat. They are, however, only obtainable in the late game. But late is better than never, especially when it comes to the Adamantite Gloves, so picking them up before embarking on your final few missions is highly recommended.

The Adamantite Gloves are found in a chest at the end of a path that branches off to the west in the Edge of Infinity. See the image below for the exact location:

Genji Gloves

Genji Gloves
Increases damage dealt to enemies by 5%
The island warriors of the far east are said to claim a piece of the armor of a slain soldier following a battle, wearing it over their own until the next encounter, at which time they finally remove it. The warriors believe that the spirit of their fallen foe will now lend them their strength.

The Genji Gloves increase your damage by 5%, making Clive even more of a force to be reckoned with than he already is. They are the second last reward that can be collected from the Patron’s Whisper in return for earning at least 2365 Renown.

Earning that much Renown involves completing a lot of different side quests, main quests, and Notorious Marks, but the reward is well worth the effort involved to get the Genji Gloves.

High Cleric’s Medallion

High Cleric’s Medallion
Increases healing potency of high potions by 25%
In remote locations where trained physickers cannot be found, the duties of curing the injured of their ails oft fall to the men and women of the local churches. Light crystal medallions such as these assist the clergy in their healing ‘prayers.’

Other than the small amount of HP you can recover from Limit Break or Flames of Rebirth, potions and high potions are the only way you can restore health on the battlefield. And even with your inventory increased to the max, you can still only carry five high potions at once.

Every high potion counts, and the 25% that the High Cleric’s Medallion boosts them by means you are essentially carrying an extra high potion with you out in the field. The High Cleric’s Medallion is another Donation Reward you can pick up from the Patron’s Whisper in exchange for earning 715 or more Renown.

Badge of Mettle +1

Badge of Mettle +1
Increases defense by 30
The strength of a city is defined by the guard that mans its walls. The strength of a city guard is defined by the pride in their hearts and the laurels on their breasts. This badge provides its wearer with one of the two.

Completing side quests in FF16 not only earns you Renown and Gil, but also excellent accessories on the odd occasion. And the side quest A Culinary Pilgrimage is one of those occasions.

You can embark on the A Culinary Pilgrimage side quest by visiting the Ale Hall in The Hideaway after starting the Here Be Monsters main quest. The Badge of Mettle +1 is among the rewards you will earn upon the quests completion.

Cobalt Tassels

Cobalt Tassels
Increases Limit Break generation amount by 6% when taking damage
Cobalt is the color of the blade that feeds my pain – Traditional battle invocation.

Limit Break increases your attack power by up to 150%, and heals you when activated. It’s one of the most important skills to utilize in battle in FF16, especially when it comes to boss fights, where your opponent is blessed with incredible strength and stamina.

Usually your Limit Break gauge only increases based on the amount of damage you deal to your opponent. Allowing it to increase when you take damage as well means more Limit Breaks, and more success in battle. The Cobalt Tassels are best paired with the Crimson Tassels.

You can purchase the Cobalt Tassels from Charon’s Toll in The Hideaway for 24,000 Gil after completing the main quest Cid the Outlaw.

Crimson Tassels

Crimson Tassels
Increases Limit Break generation amount by 3% when dealing damage.
Crimson is the color of the blood that feeds my rage. – Traditional battle invocation.

There are many accessories and gear in FF16 that you can mix and match to create your perfect build. For those who specialize in the use of Limit Break, combining the Crimson and Cobalt Tassels is a must.

You can purchase the Crimson Tassels from Charon’s Toll in The Hideaway for 28,000 Gil after completing the main quest Cid the Outlaw.

The Golden Testament

The Golden Testament
Increases Gil earned by 35%
A beautifully illuminated scroll containing the writings of the tongueless prophet Llivol, who is believed to have spread the gospel of Gilbard the Lender across southern Storm.

Gil is relatively easy to come by in Final Fantasy 16, but there are always a few who may not be as good with their cash as others. Good weapons and accessories do come at a price, after all.

Those who have spent all their hard-earned Gil on things like The Golden Testament can equip the accessory to earn 35% more Gil than they otherwise would. 35% is a rather healthy percentage and is sure to make a difference to your wallet.

If you don’t have the 5000 Gil you need to purchase The Golden Testament from Charon’s Toll in The Hideaway, there are still other methods you can use to farm Gil.

On Fortune and the Heavens

On Fortune and the Heavens
Increases EXP earned by 15%
A treatise in which the renowned astrologer Osmo claims to have successfully mapped the eastern autumn skies and proceeds to explain how the stars’ location is relevant in the fortification of the spirit.

On Fortune and the Heavens increases the amount of EXP you get by 15%, making it far easier to level up. The highest level you can reach in your first playthrough is level 50. If you’re looking to reach the level cap as soon as possible, getting your hands on this accessory is a must.

You can buy On Fortune and the Heavens from Charon’s Toll in The Hideaway for 5500 Gil after completing the main quest Cid the Outlaw.

The Wages of Warcraft

The Wages of Warcraft
Increases ability points earned in normal encounters by 20%
It is said that in his three score years as combat trainer, Rasset the Younger saw to the training of over ten thousand soldiers, focusing on efficiency over brute strength. Fortunately, before he passed, he dictated his learnings to one of his acolytes so that future generations might partake in his wisdom.

Ability Points are one of the most precious forms of currency in the game. They are earned after defeating foes in battle, completing side quests, and progressing through the story, and are used to learn, upgrade, and master abilities in the Ability Tree.

You need to be tactical with your Ability Points in FF16 if you want to master and learn as many abilities as possible. Equipping The Wages of Warcraft will give you more freedom to purchase and master Abilities since you will have more points to show for your efforts.
