When it comes to drugstore foundations and concealers, Rimmel is one of my favourite brands. They usually have decent shade ranges, and their Match Perfection Foundation has been one of my most used foundations over the last six years or so.
So, I’m always up for trying their new complexion products, and two years ago, they launched the Rimmel Kind & Free Hydrating Concealer, alongside the matching Skin Tint and Pressed Powder, all in the Kind & Free range. I have already written a review on the Rimmel Kind & Free Moisturising Skin Tint, and it’s safe to say, I hated it, so I didn’t have the highest of hopes for the concealer.
The Rimmel Kind & Free range has been designed to be a clean makeup range, and it’s also vegan, free from fragrance, mineral oils and animal derived ingredients. Personally, clean makeup isn’t a something I actively look for, but I know clean beauty products are important to many, especially if you have sensitive or reactive skin.
What Is The Rimmel Kind & Free Hydrating Concealer?

The Rimmel Kind & Free Hydrating Concealer is £8.99, and you get 7ml of product. It’s a conventional concealer, with a doefoot applicator, and there are just six shades. Six shades for a concealer is just laughable at this point. Rimmel is pretty inclusive with their foundations, but with concealers, they just don’t bother.
I have the lightest shade; Fair 010, and it’s pretty deep. However, once blended, it blends away into nothing. It doesn’t conceal anything at all, even subtle acne marks, it just feels so watery and lacking in pigment, which I guess is down to the formula having 80% of its ingredients having a natural origin.
It does have a hydrating formula, like it claims, and it feels nice on the skin. But, if you’re using a concealer, you want it to conceal, and it just doesn’t cover anything at all. The Rimmel Multi-Tasker Concealer (review) is so, so much better, and is a dupe for the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. So, I’d highly recommend avoiding the Rimmel Kind & Free Hydrating Concealer, and go for the Rimmel Multi-Tasker Concealer instead.
