Rae assisted in designing President Barbie’s outfit for the live-action movie, which included a ballgown and a sash that was suitable for pageants and read “President” in bubble letters. On July 9, Issa Rae attended the movie’s world premiere in Los Angeles and looked every inch glamorous. She donned a custom floor-grazing Marc Bouwer gown with a plunging chest cutout, sculpted shoulders, and a striking bow design while waving to the fans on the pink carpet. According to reports, Michelle Obama served as inspiration for the bicep-baring design, and the regal velvet fabric added to its commanding presence.
#2. The Barbie premiere in London
A few days later, Issa Rae debuted two eye-catching ensembles at the Barbie premiere in London. She wore a hot pink mini dress with a structured bodice and a leg slit to the actual screening.

She chose a Givenchy maxi dress with a sheer design and a slip underneath for the Barbie celebration party in Sydney.
