Issa Rae’s Barbie Tour Wardrobe Is A Red Carpet Fashion Heaven

Women in politics get a lot of attention for their fashion choices. A number of articles have been inspired by Hillary Clinton’s suits, Michelle Obama’s sleeveless silhouettes, and even Kamala Harris’ skinny jeans have stirred some debate. Overall, being a fashionable woman in the White House is challenging. Issa Rae Barbie

However, Issa Rae, who plays President Barbie in the upcoming “Barbie” movie, has created a new style of commander-in-chief uniform using the film’s successful viral publicity tour. President Barbie has been around since 1992, and over the years, Mattel has released numerous versions of the doll.

Rae assisted in designing President Barbie’s outfit for the live-action movie, which included a ballgown and a sash that was suitable for pageants and read “President” in bubble letters. It should come as no surprise that Rae and her stylist Wouri Vice have been treating the press tour as a glam-filled campaign trail in order to promote the movie. She has been waving like the president, wearing matching outfits, and of course, slaying in a lot of pink.

Here are some sweet looks Issa Rae has worn on the Barbie press tour…

#1. The Barbie world premiere in Los Angeles on July 9

On July 9, Issa Rae attended the movie’s world premiere in Los Angeles and looked every inch glamorous. She donned a custom floor-grazing Marc Bouwer gown with a plunging chest cutout, sculpted shoulders, and a striking bow design while waving to the fans on the pink carpet. According to reports, Michelle Obama served as inspiration for the bicep-baring design, and the regal velvet fabric added to its commanding presence.

#2. The Barbie premiere in London

A few days later, Issa Rae debuted two eye-catching ensembles at the Barbie premiere in London. She wore a hot pink mini dress with a structured bodice and a leg slit to the actual screening.

She later appeared at the photocall wearing a PatBo dress with a multicolored swirling pattern and long green feather embellishment that was influenced by the 1960s. Jackie O would surely be pleased with this classic style.

#3. Her other outings in London

Rae’s subsequent trips in London emanated a reinvented preppy look. On July 12, she sported a white tank top, matching sunglasses, and a high-waisted pink leather mini skirt.

Later that day, she changed into a Self-Portrait tweed co-ord featuring a crop top and a mini skirt. She posted a photo on Instagram with the caption, “This Barbie is on strike,” to mark the completion of the press tour leg, making reference to the fact that actors have joined the ongoing Hollywood writers’ strike. Stunning fashion and a demonstration of support for her supporters? A comprehensive presidential slay, and one among many.

#4. Her trip to Australia last month got a wave of pink as well

Madam President went toward power suits last month when traveling to Australia, wearing a structured pink cropped blazer over a matching button-down shirt with an oversized frilly bow in place of a tie which she rocked with matching pants.

She chose a Givenchy maxi dress with a sheer design and a slip underneath for the Barbie celebration party in Sydney. This seamless change in clothing perfectly captures the character of the president manufactured by Mattel. After all, as the ruler of Barbie Land, your responsibilities are sweet rather than overly serious, and the same is true of your attire.

#5. Her look to the Wimbledon final

Rae wore a pink Alaa turtleneck dress to Wimbledon over the house’s coordinating turtleneck top, along with brown heels and understated jewelry. Now, Wimbledon received a well-deserved splash of the character’s distinctive pink color as tastefully delivered by Issa Rae after countless Barbie-worthy outfits adorned pink carpets all around the world. Regards only to our President Barbie.
