Some say French is the language of love, but for Annika & Sid, it’s Spanish! The two attended Maggie Walker Governor’s School together and one of their classes was AP Spanish Literature. Once Annika got her license, she would pick Sid up for school accompanied by many jam sessions and chit-chat. Sid felt their friendship blossom and was ready to ask her out. He gathered her favorite flowers and 6 large sketchbook papers consisting of poems, drawings, a Spanish Sonnet, and reasons why they would be the perfect couple. With these in hand at a local park, Sid asked Annika to be his girlfriend. Are y’all sobbing? We are too — This is love.

Years later, they moved into their first official shared apartment. Soon after, Sid grabbed their favorite meal (lamb biriyani and butter chicken), took Annika to the balcony, and popped the question. Of course, she said YES!

Their perfect venue was Main Street Station since it’s in the heart of Richmond and gave them freedom to pick their own vendors. This fun-loving couple wanted a colorful wedding. The colors were Peacock Blue and Orchid Smoke. Every piece of decor supported this palette. A guest commented that the wedding looked like a Wes Anderson Film. According to Annika, “That is the highest compliment we could have received!”

Annika nervously gave her vows first since Sid is a beautiful and deep heartfelt writer. The vows were Annika’s favorite. “Sid encapsulated our love for each other and our hopes for the future, it was beautiful.”

Annika and Sid wanted their food to leave a lasting impression, and spoiler alert, it did! In their words, “the food had to be top-notch. And it was.”

After the much-needed celebration, good food, and long-lasting memories, Annika & Sid took off for their honeymoon. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, it did! These newlyweds went on a five-week honeymoon to Istanbul, Kerala, Tokyo, Kyoto, and Kauai!
