Have you heard of Fwee? This is a new KBeauty brand and they have already made a splash in Korea! They are the makeup division of brand numbuzin. they make several cushion compacts, including the Cushion Glass for a dewy and glowy makeup finish and Cushion Suede, for a moisturizing yet semi-matte finish. Guess which one I chose! I received both of these products from Jolse Cosmetic, a premier K-Beauty online store, complementary for review purposes.

Key Ingredients
Both of these cushions have these key ingredients. Containing a hybrid UV filter ~ one mineral: titanium dioxide (UVA/UVB) and one chemical: Octinoxate (UVA/UVB) for a rating of SPF 50+ PA+++. Now, even though this has SPF in it, I would recommend that you use an actual sunscreen under this, as this will not provide sufficient protection from UV rays. Quick rundown on SPF and PA: SPF (sun protection factor) ranks based on protection from UVB :: ultraviolet B (shortwave) rays. PA (protection grade) is the amount of protection the sunscreen offers from UVA :: ultraviolet A (long-wave) rays. PA ranks with + signs and the higher the + signs, the more protection you will get from UVA rays. UVB is what causes sunburns and reddened skin and has direct links to cancer. UVA is what causes us to tan, and age ~ wrinkles and deep lines are caused by UVA exposure. Western sunscreens don’t label the PA rating, but if they state that they are a broad spectrum sunscreen, that means it does have UVA protection.
Niacinamide is a powerful antioxidant that acts as an anti-inflammatory, improves your skin elasticity, enhance the skin barrier function and also it helps to even out skin tone and reduce post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation, while yeast derived adenosine provides anti-wrinkle and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Anti-inflammatory panthenol helps cellular renewal and is an effective moisturizer. Panthenol is also natural humectant, which retains moisture and hydrates the skin. It also is a good lubricant on the skin, making skin look soft and smooth. Speaking of humectants, this has a trio of differing molecular weight hyaluronic acids to help hydrate and bind moisture to skin, from the outer layers and deep into your skin.
There is also a trio of blemish-care and healing botanicals: tea tree is known for its topical antiseptic and anti-fungal properties and help target and treat blemish-prone skin. It also reduces oil and sebum production on your skin, while not disrupting the moisture level. Houttuynia Cordata is a medicinal herb that is found in a lot in Asian skin care products. It is an antibiotic, which helps with preventing infection from skin problems, such as blemishes. It is also a potent antioxidant, as it contains anti-aging compounds such as flavonoids and triterpenoid, which helps strengthen, purify and revitalize your skin . It also has powerful detox properties, is an astringent and anti-inflammatory. Finally, centella asiatica helps speed up wound healing, minimizes the appearance of pores & stimulates collagen production, making your skin more supple & firm

This semi-matte cushion contains 65% of a moisturizing essence containing glacial water and a “suede powder“. This “suede powder” is a patented ingredient to help the cushion adhere to the skin, while covering redness, blemishes and pores: Patent Number 10-2161465 contains ingredients such as silica, nylon-12, cyclopentasiloxane, cyclohexasiloxane, dimethicone, acrylates/ethylhexyl acrylate/dimethicone methacrylate copolymer, acrylates/etearyl acrylate/dimethicone methacrylate copolymer, trimethylsiloxysilicate, titanium dioxide and organic pigments. You can tell by the ingredient list that this powder would slide nicely over the skin, yet not be cakey. These cushions are also safe for sensitive skin.

As with many Korean BB Cushions, this comes in light, lighter and lightest shades, so if you are medium tan or darker, these will not work for you.

As I can be either 21 or 23, I decided that I needed to try both 02 Peach Suede and 03 Nude Suede. I reserve 23 for brands like Innisfree, which is SO light. The cushions are pretty minimalist ~ a creamy off-white case, fwee in raised letters and the standard mirror, puff and divided compartment. Speaking of puffs, this one has a nice pointed end, so I can pat the product better around my nose and eyes. This soft puff is also infused with castor seed oil, so it helps with applying the foundation without any clumps, dryness or greasiness.
02 Peach Suede and 03 Nude Suede look very close in their color scheme, but held next to each other, you can tell that the Peach has more pink in it. I would not say Nude is yellowish, but more neutral in my opinion. What I like about this foundation is that it does leave a nice semi-matte finish but it doesn’t cause my skin to crack around my fine lines and wrinkles and doesn’t cling to my pores. I would say this has medium coverage, but it isn’t thick on the skin at all. Just by patting the product on my blemishes, it covers them completely and even helps hide some broken capillaries. My skin doesn’t feel dry at all and this has a nice almost second skin texture.

The colors are initially bright on my skin, but after a few minutes, the product does seem to color correct itself and isn’t as bright. I have reapplied the cushion several times over the course of the day and the color doesn’t oxidize nor does the foundation cake on with repeated applications. fwee Suede BB Cushion is recommended for oily, combination, and dehydrated oily skin and I fit the last category ~ I would say this works very nicely on my skin. It gives me that nice semi-matte look, without making my skin look like I am wearing a mask or drying out my skin.
