CurrentBody Pores and skin LED Lip Perfector- The Science

It appears to be much too excellent to be legitimate does not? that one thing as uncomplicated as a light-weight could reverse getting older. But there is actually superior science behind it and a fair clarification as to how it works. I’m summarising listed here but this is essentially how the researchers assume it will work.

LED treatment options are also recognised as Minimal Level Laser Therapy or photobiomodulation and it has a lot of applications. LED devices are utilized for all kinds of software in the healthcare discipline- for hair decline, wound healing, seasonal effective problem, NASA takes advantage of LED treatment to assistance heal inflammation and muscle hurt.

Even though the pores and skin is commonly exposed to light, LED therapy is diverse to standard noticeable light-weight in that it has a incredibly slender electromagnetic wavelength and greater electricity than usual light-weight. The therapeutic LEDs emit photons which have a cellular outcome. The photons cause a launch of reactive oxygen species and ATP which in convert encourage messenger substances which notify the mobile to regenerate and create collagen (Yeh et al, 2010).

CurrentBody Skin LED Lip Perfector- The Science
CurrentBody Skin LED Lip Perfector- The Science- Avci et al, 2013

There have been a number of reports which display that LED remedies with red mild and infrared mild (the exact same wavelengths that the Currentbody Lip LED system uses!) have the next consequences-

  • Increases collagen amounts in the pores and skin
  • Increases pores and skin smoothness
  • Speeds up therapeutic time
  • Reduces redness
  • Will help treat zits
  • Increases blood movement
  • Protection from UV sunshine injury
  • Reduces wrinkles (Avci et al, 2013).

According to Avci et al, 2013, the treatment plans furnished in the scientific studies used machines that have electrical power of .04–50 J/cm2 and energy densities of < 100 mW/cm2. Wavelengths in the range of 390 nm to 600 nm are used to treat the top most layers of skin, and longer wavelengths in the range of 600nm to 1,100nm, which penetrate more, are used to treat deeper layers. The CurrentBody Skin LED Lip Perfector has good energy levels and a range of wavelengths that can help with the effects of aging as well as improving healing and skin quality.

Also of note, any age skin can benefit from light treatment, not just the over 40s. Trelles (2006), recommended LED phototherapy for those in their 20s as a way to prevent aging.

The CurrentBody Skin LED Lip Perfector comes with a base which connects magnetically to the device. It has a plastic cover, a replacement mouth piece and handy carry bag. It’s rechargeable and the charge lasts for ages. The packaging is nice and feels like good quality.

The device is shaped like a dummy (aka pacifier) and you hold it in your mouth. You press the button and the lights come on. It will turn itself off once the three minute treatment time is over. I do find my jaw aches a bit holding the device between my teeth, but it’s only three minutes, so that’s not so bad. It would probably be better if I lay down for the treatment and let gravity give me a hand but I’m not great at sitting still. The treatment is painless and just feels a little warm.

I’ve used the device for several weeks, missing the odd day when I’ve been too busy. I think I’ve noticed some difference in the quality of the skin around my mouth. Maybe less lined and smoother. I wouldn’t say my lips are plumper, that could be something that happens over a longer period of time perhaps? Here are my before and after pictures and some that the brand took also-

I think that the CurrentBody Skin LED Lip Perfector would be a great device for someone with particular issues around the mouth area. It would be great for smoker’s lines, smile lines or marionettes. Rejuvenating the mouth/lip area is particularly difficult- it’s a sensitive area for retinoids, you can’t really use botox in the same way you can elsewhere for fear of affecting the smile. The CurrentBody Skin LED Lip Perfector is a great targeted solution to perioral aging.
