A very warm welcome to Nataly and Kevin and their stunning Villa La Joya wedding story in Mexico. What’s not to love about their pampas grass florals, neon signs, gorgeous earthy tones and all the romance?
I adore their stylish outfit choices, the striking flowers and the most gorgeous candlelit tables located outdoors beneath festoon lights. Their whole day looked so fun, with so many smiles and fireworks to end the night. Oh my.
Thanks so much to Andre Gouin for kindly sharing with us these tremendous shots of one very special day indeed.
Villa La Joya Wedding
The Proposal
2012.. the year that the Booster’s was established! Kevin and Nataly’s love story dates back to May 5, 2012 thanks to the introduction by Kevin’s brother Danny and Nataly’s best friend Esmeralda! Kevin and Nataly always knew about each other but when they officially went on their first date, they were inseparable ever since.
Fast forward 5 years later, Nataly and Kevin decided to take a trip to Europe for the holidays; it was both of their first time visiting Europe so it felt extra special. On December 25, 2017, Kevin gave Nataly a Christmas gift she would never forget. A stunning engagement ring during an intimate romantic boat ride, down the canals of Utrecht, Netherlands.
Can you now guess Nataly’s favorite holiday!? It was a day they wish they could relive every day!
The Ceremony & Music
Ceremony was held in a catholic church in El Pueblito in Mayakoba, a beautiful intimate ceremony with a cello and piano player for the entrance of the bride.
The church had a very rustic vibe and was decorated with minimal florals and dried elements such as pampas grass and white roses.
The Venue
Villa La Joya – Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
The Honeymoon
We never officially took a trip and called it our “honeymoon” after the wedding instead we traveled about every other month and enjoyed different new places of the world together!
We live in the US so we visited a few states that we had never gone to and we also went to El Salvador for about 2 weeks. When we came home from EL Salvador we found out we were pregnant and expecting our first child. In May of 2023, we took a baby moon to Tulum and also called it our official honeymoon. Two celebrations in one!
The Styling & Decor
We really wanted the space to look rustic but not over the top where you start to go into the vintage look. We wanted a rustic modern look so we incorporated colors that gave off that vibe. Earth tones mixed with black.
The flowers were a mixture of dry elements, fresh roses and some exotic flowers. We also used 2 neon signs. One for the sweetheart table that read “Simpre fueste tu” and “The Boosters” which is our nickname for each other, hung over one of the lounges. We actually have that sign hanging in our kitchen now to remind us every day of that epic wedding night.
Our cake was exactly what we wanted, simplicity with just a touch of the perfect floral arrangement to decorate it.
Memorable Moments
One of our most memorable moments was sitting together at our sweetheart table and looking out into the crowd and just taking the moment all in, seeing all of our loved ones in one room celebrating our love meant the world to us.
Also exchanging our vows, every time I watch our video and listen to our vows I immediately burst into tears, it was a very special moment.
Our first dance and walking into our reception are also moments that we will never forget. 2/12/22 is one memorable day we will always cherish.
Advice For Other Couples
One piece of advice to other couples would be to make your wedding as intimate as possible. Really narrow down your guest list to the most important people In each of your lives. We felt that at a 65-70 headcount we were able to interact with each and every one of our guests. It felt a lot more special that way.
Does it get any more special!? Woah.
Thanks ever so much to Nataly and Kevin for sharing with us their incredible Villa La Joya wedding story.
