We Love This Place: The Wolfville Wedding Chapel in Nova Scotia, Canada

The Wolfville Wedding Chapel is the Maritime’s only full-service wedding chapel. Located in the heart of Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley, it has celebrated nearly 200 happily married couples since opening in 2021.

The guys behind this lovely wedding venue have taken something that’s always existed: the elopement, and they’ve tried to rebrand it. It’s no longer about running away in secret, but the modern elopement is about doing what celebrates you.

The Wolfville Wedding Chapel offers 3 wedding packages:

  1. The Quick as Lightning- which is a true elopement: the couple + two witnesses. Kiss and be out the door in 20 minutes.
  2. The Honeymoon- a 30-minute booking for the couple + 10 guests
  3. The Whole Shebang- an hour-long booking for up to 20 guests and includes a champagne toast.

They’ve outfitted the chapel with color, kitsch, and of course, our Elvis bust, all while keeping the decor modern and accessible for all tastes. Their retro photobooth offers guests a unique experience and a fun keepsake from the day.

The Chapel encourages fun and spontaneity in what is often a cookie-cutter wedding world. The goal of the Wolfville Wedding Chapel is to encourage couples to ditch tradition and expectation and get married in a way that’s ceremony-focused and real.

The micro wedding era is here, and Wolfville Wedding Chapel is here to encourage couples to focus on the heart of their wedding: getting married. Today’s soon-to-be-spouses are seeking to customize their guest lists, discard traditions that don’t resonate with them, make the day unique to their vision, and take their afterparties on the go.

Couples love the weddings at Wolfville Wedding Chapel because they can be relaxed! With everything included, they don’t have to do much outside the fun bits: choosing an outfit and deciding how to celebrate afterward.

They haven’t broken the bank (so go ahead and buy the fancy wedding shoes or the sequin jacket)!

The chapel also values the ceremony, which is at the heart of every wedding day. Doing away with the to-do list allows couples to focus on them getting married- which is the point of it all, right?

Throwing out the rulebook on weddings and creating a welcoming space, celebrating love, in whatever shape it takes, is why this little love shack is here. What we love about intimate weddings is that they can be whatever you want them to be.
