Love Is Blind fans are petitioning to remove Nick and Vanessa Lachey as hosts following the disastrous season 4 reunion episode on Netflix. 15 men and 15 women engage in a social experiment where they look for love in custom-built pods for 10 days before getting engaged to a cast member they’ve never seen face to face. Love is Blind season 4 saw three couples getting married successfully, and one splitting right at the altar, but amid spoilers, viewers wished to find out what happened to the cast a year after the weddings. The reunion failed to air live and fans were left unsatisfied by the Lacheys’ hosting style.
Now, frustrated Love Is Blind season 4 reunion viewers have created a Change.org petition for the network to fire the husband and wife duo who are the “one large problem” of the successful show. The petition created by a person named Libby Cross requires 25,000 signatures and has already gathered 23,533 and more. The fan claims the hosts “felt pretty useless and out of place” from season 1 itself and are more invested in “directing” attention towards themselves instead of focusing on the cast itself.
The petitioner points out that the two are “cringy” and “stir up the drama and leave” while calling them “C-list celebrities.”
Who Should Host Love Is Blind Season 5 After Nick & Vanessa?
According to the petition founder, Nick and Vanessa of Love Is Blind make the show feel fake and poorly produced even though it is reality TV. They, however, refrain from making any suggestions about who should replace the duo, in case their petition does get heard by writing, “Well literally anyone else” can take their place. In the comments, fans accused Vanessa of having a “bias against men” and making couples uncomfortable by asking them about “babies.” Most commentators, however, appeared to be angered by Vanessa alone who they feel is rude while Nick is called out for being boring and looking like “he doesn’t want to be there.”
Andy Cohen is one name that’s appearing in comments frequently. So are Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton, the most successful couple of Love Is Blind so far. They got married in season 1 and fans don’t mind watching them return to the show this time as hosts. The demand for hosts that stay neutral and don’t take sides to make a certain cast member feel guilty with their questions is high. Vanessa seemingly kept asking the contestants when they plan to start having babies was seen as intrusive and insensitive. Despite the ongoing backlash, neither Nick nor Vanessa has responded to it.
Vanessa, did, however, turn off the comments on her new Instagram post. Unfortunately for her, it hasn’t stopped passionate Love Is Blind fans from entering the comments section of the former Total Request Live host to tell her why she isn’t doing her job right. With Nick not facing as much heat as Vanessa, there might be viewers who wouldn’t mind him hosting the show alone and leaving his wife at home. Still, with four seasons of Love Is Blind done and dusted, perhaps both Nick and Vanessa who began hosting the show together in 2020 can step down and let someone else steal the show.
