If you’ve just bought yourself a shiny new iPhone 14, or you have an older iPhone model that you’ll use until the battery finally gives out, having the right combination of accessories is critical. And with the holidays right around the corner, iPhone accessories are fantastic gifts for friends, loved ones or even colleagues during office gift exchanges.

So if you’re looking for devices to keep your iPhone charged while on-the-go, need to add an extra layer of protection or simply find a better way to play your favorite iPhone games, here’s our favorite 20 accessories we can’t live without.

Apple MagSafe Battery Pack ($97.99; amazon.com)

Apple’s MagSafe Battery Pack is compact, easy to use and magnetically attaches to any MagSafe-compatible iPhone (12 or newer). Simply put the pack on the back of the iPhone, let it wirelessly charge until you have enough juice and then put the pack away. Easy peasy.

If you want the convenience of a MagSafe with the versatility of a traditional portable battery pack, look no further than the Anker 633 Magnetic Battery. It comes with a few ports for wired charging of any device–such as your Apple Watch–and can wirelessly charge your iPhone at the same time. The kickstand on the back makes charging while still using your phone a breeze.

GoalZero Sherpa 100PD ($199.99; goalzero.com)

Sometimes a small charger simply won’t cut it. For the times when you need more power, like something powerful enough to charge your laptop while wirelessly charging your iPhone, the GoalZero Sherpa 100PD is our top choice. There’s a clear LCD display for checking on charging status, a Qi wireless charging pad on the top, two USB ports and a USB-C port that can put out 100 watts—it’s powerful and fast.

TwelveSouth HiRise 3 ($99.99; amazon.com)

The TwelveSouth HiRise 3 wireless charging stand is a terrific three-in-one option. The stand comes with a MagSafe spot for your iPhone, a charging spot for your Apple Watch and another area at the base to wirelessly charge your AirPods case. Best of all, it only takes up one outlet.

While admittedly a little more expensive than some of the other three-in-one stands found on Amazon, the MagSafe spot will hold the iPhone in place and offer faster speeds.

Satechi 66W USB-C 3-Port wall charger ($54.99; satechi.net)

Speaking of taking up one outlet, the Satechi 66W USB-C 3-Port wall charger can provide up to 66 watts (W) of power to three different devices. Its slim design doesn’t take up too much space, and you’re able to use all of those USB-C cables that Apple devices come with now.

To put it into perspective, the average phone charger uses five watts of power while a laptop will need an average of 40 watts.

Apple 20W USB-C Wall Adapter ($17.98, originally $19.99; amazon.com)

Don’t want or need a charger with multiple ports? Apple’s 20W USB-C wall adapter is one of the fastest 20W chargers we’ve tested and is almost always on sale. Simple and effective.

We’ve all been tied to an outlet thanks to the inexplicably short Lightning cables that come with the iPhone. This Anker Powerline II USB-C to Lightning cable is 10 feet long and will triple your roaming range, be it at the airport or in your bedroom as you doom scroll before falling asleep.

Apple iPhone Leather Case with MagSafe ($59.00; amazon.com)

Add some protection to your iPhone with Apple’s leather case. There are several colors to choose from for a touch of personality. Leather cases always change over time, the patina of wear marking each leather case as unique.

Nomad Goods Modern Leather Case ($49.95; nomadgoods.com)

Nomad Goods has its own leather case for the iPhone lineup, and during our testing it looks and feels just as good (if not better) than the Apple version. You won’t find any wild colors, but you will certainly be satisfied with high-quality leather cases that are sleek and properly protect your iPhone.

Otterbox Defender Series ($64.95; amazon.com)

We couldn’t exclude the grandfather of all protective phone cases. For someone who needs extra levels of drop protection, the Otterbox Defender Series is a great fit. It has port covers built-in to block dirt or debris and is MIL-STD-810G 516.6 certified. No idea what that specifically means? Don’t worry—it just means the case is tough and can protect your iPhone through four times as many drops as a normal case.

PopSockets for improved grip and added style (Starts at $50.00; popsockets.com)

Popsockets have had to adapt and evolve with the release of Apple’s MagSafe tech, and frankly, we believe the product lineup looks better because of it. From clear and basic black to eye-popping purples and blues, there are plenty of designs to pick from. With 10-foot drop protection and swappable components for easy grip changes, this product adds a unique flair to any phone case.

Apple iPhone Leather Wallet with MagSafe ($59; amazon.com)

Phone, wallet and keys–can’t leave home without them. Simplify your life with this combination case.

And with mobile payments becoming the norm, the need to carry around countless credit and debit cards have drastically reduced the need for a big wallet. Apple’s Leather Wallet with MagSafe integrates with the FindMy network to help you track it down when lost, holds three cards and magnetically attaches to the back of your iPhone.

InvisibleShield Glass Elite Privacy 360 ($59.99; zagg.com)

Screen protectors are an easy way to add extra protection to the iPhone’s screen, but the Elite Privacy 360 also adds a layer of protection by making it impossible for people sitting on either side of you to see your screen.

InvisibleShield Glass XTR2 ($59.99; zagg.com)

Or if you’d rather have a screen protector that only serves to protect your iPhone from random scratches and the occasional drop, the InvisibleShield Glass XTR2 does just that.

Apple AirPods third-generation ($169; amazon.com)

Apple’s AirPods are an iconic product that we’d be remiss if we didn’t include. The third-generation AirPods have a tweaked design for a better fit, Spatial Audio for an awesome listening experience, and up to 30 hours of battery life.

Apple AirPods Pro second-generation ($239; amazon.com)

The second-generation AirPods Pro just launched and they are a hit. Improved noise cancelation, an adaptive transparency mode that is beyond impressive and longer battery life than its predecessor—all for the same price as the original. Read our full review for all the pros and cons on why it could be time to invest in a pair.

Beats Fit Pro ($199.95; amazon.com)

For the more fitness-focused person, the Beats Fit Pro have a lot of the same features and capabilities as the AirPods Pro, but they’re better suited for people who often workout. They offer a tighter fit, stronger battery life and come in all sorts of fun colors.

Apple’s AirTags are an easily forgotten but must-have accessory for those who are always misplacing their valuables. Attach the small device to your backpack, keys or even toss it in your luggage and forget about it—until one of those items comes up missing. Then open the FindMy app on your iPhone and you can track down the tag (even if it’s on the other side of the world) using Apple’s FindMy network.

TwelveSouth AirFly ($34.99; amazon.com)

AirFly phone accessory

If you travel frequently, you understand the annoyance of having to carry a pair of wired headphones for in-flight entertainment when you have a perfectly good pair of AirPods. TwelveSouth’s AirFly fixes that problem by converting the 3.5mm headphone jack into a Bluetooth connection with 20 hours of battery life.

RiotPWR Controller for iOS ($69.99; amazon.com)

If you frequently find yourself playing games on your iPhone but wish you had a controller to make it easier than the touch controls, take a look at the RiotPWR Controller for iOS. Using a wired connection, you’re able to use the controller to play all of your favorite Apple Arcade, Xbox Cloud or other controller-compatible games. Just remember to pack a charger, you’re going to need it once you find yourself gaming all the time.
