Outdoor ceremony location / Tented reception space
Ample parking for all guests
This venue has plenty of open space to prepare for the wedding day. Having to travel between locations adds stress to an already packed wedding-day timeline. When couples can arrive on site and have some time before the ceremony begins, it makes a world of difference! We love the natural wood arches throughout the mansion. Using the natural architecture of the estate really adds a unique element to the photographs of the wedding day! The arch below seems like it was built (way back in 1886) with the sole vision of hanging wedding dresses!
While some outdoor wedding ceremony locations are pre-set with static elements, the garden space at the Stevens Estate is fully customizable. You can add a garden arch covered in flowers as a backdrop, or let nature handle the backdrop with its lush pine forest. Guests are seated in cushy folding chairs so everyone will be comfortable while you say your vows!
After 14 years of photographing weddings in New England (and ESPECIALLY the summer of 2023), we’ve learned the importance of a solid rain plan! When the rain started on Kayla and Alex’s wedding day, Stevens Estate staff sprang into action. They moved chairs from the outdoor ceremony space to the dry and cozy indoor tent. Wedding guests were definitely relieved when they learned they would be able to celebrate with the couple without getting their fancy shoes wet!
Most venues have a plan for the ceremony if there is a surprise downpour, but not all still have amazing locations for photos! We love that the Stevens Estate has these cavernous outdoor spaces with tons of natural light. We were able to photograph all of the large family portraits “outdoors” and avoid anyone getting wet! Of course, it’s always fun to grab an umbrella and get a few sprinkling photos to still tell the story of what happened on your wedding day!
This venue boasts a sprawling garden and green space for guests to enjoy cocktail hour. It also has a lovely covered porch for guests who prefer a more indoor setting. Fireside Catering handles all of the food at this venue, and every time they knock it out of the park. From the miniature lobster rolls to their Szechuan Cauliflower bites, guests are always quick to empty the servers trays! Toasts and dancing follow cocktail hour under a spacious white tent just behind the mansion.
