Princess Kate showed out at the 2022 Earthshot Prize Awards.
To conclude their jam-packed first trip back to the United States since 2014, Catherine, Princess of Wales, made a vibrant appearance in Boston tonight for the second Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony.
The royal wore a jaw-dropping off-the-shoulder gown in a bright mint green hue. She complimented the color with her accessories, opting for an emerald and diamond choker necklace and matching earrings.
Meanwhile, Prince William looked suave in a blue velvet tuxedo with a white dress shirt, black bowtie, and black trousers.
This year marks the second annual ceremony for the Earthshot Prize Awards, an honor Prince William established to recognize innovators for their achievements in tackling the world’s biggest environmental problems. The global prize will give £1 million ($1.2 million) to each recipient.
The event will see a bevy of talent. Billie Eilish, FINNEAS, Chloe x Halle, Annie Lennox, and Ellie Goulding are among tonight’s performers. Meanwhile, presenters include broadcasters Clara Amfo and Sir David Attenborough, as well as actors Catherine O’Hara, Rami Malek, Shailene Woodley, and Daniel Dae Kim.
Though last year’s inaugural ceremony took place in London, this year’s event is occurring in Boston, marking the couple’s first trip to the United States in eight years and their first overseas trip since the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
“I would like to thank the people of Massachusetts and particularly of Boston for their many tributes paid to the late Queen,” William said in a statement released soon after the couple’s arrival on Wednesday. “She remembered her 1976 bicentennial visit with great fondness. My grandmother was one of life’s optimists. And so am I. That is why last year we launched the Earthshot Prize with the ambition to create a truly global platform to inspire hope and urgent optimism as we look to save the future of our planet.”
