We are excited to announce our new fundraiser pendants have been released! Since we started our fundraiser program, we have only ever partnered with two organizations at once…but this year, Beth Millner Jewelry is partnering with four!
This years partners are Partridge Creek Farm, the Marquette Women’s Center, Great Lakes Recovery Centers, and a returning partner, Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter (UPAWS).
We donate $50 from every piece of jewelry sold back to the organizations. Find out more about the mission behind each of these awesome organizations and how your purchase of a fundraiser piece can help further their mission.
The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter (UPAWS) aims to “improve the quality of life and welfare for domestic animals and to provide a safe haven while finding lifelong homes for the animals in our care.” In addition to providing a safe haven for animals in Marquette county, they also run the UPAWS Pet Food Pantry, manage the Paws Park Dog Park, and provide various other community resources for pet owners.
The “Forever Home” Pendant boasts our signature conifer couple in front of a large paw print, putting our love for pets front and center!
Great Lakes Recovery Centers is a non-profit behavioral health agency operating in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Their mission is to “empower recovery through hope and change,” and they aim to “create healthy communities one person at a time.” Their services include a variety of mental health services, including child and adolescent care, as well as services for individuals recovering from substance abuse disorder. Additionally, they provide community based prevention services, and work with MDHHS to provide foster care recruitment and training.
The “Blooming Lotus” Pendant showcases a lotus fixed in front of a crescent moon. The lotus is a common symbol of rebirth, and the crescent moon represents the slow and steady change happening every day.
The Marquette Women’s Center aims to “provide programs and services in Marquette and Alger Counties that Protect, Educate, Advocate, Counsel, and Empower (PEACE).” They offer individual support and advocacy services for survivors of domestic abuse and intimate partner violence. They offer counseling, safety planning, and even housing through Harbor House. Additionally, they run Pak Ratz Thrift Shop, which provides the revenue that they need to offer critical services in the community, and manage a 24/7 help and information line at (906)-226-6611.
Our “Extended Branch” Pendant pays ode to the Women’s Center acronym of P.E.A.C.E, as doves and the laurel branch are said to represent peace and harmony.
Partridge Creek Farm “impacts our community through reducing food insecurity, supporting food-based economic development, and providing learning opportunities to youth, elders, and everyone in-between on sustainable food systems through hands-on, experiential education.” They manage several community gardens in Ishpeming, Michigan, as well as the Inspiration Orchard Community Food Forest. Additionally, they partner with local schools to create gardens that provide educational opportunities to children in the community, and in 2022 broke ground on an intergenerational farm located between Ishpeming High School and Jasperlite Senior Housing.
The “Charming Garden” Pendant tells a story of growth via a seed from when it first pushes through the soil to when its leaves unravel and absorb the suns warmth.
