ATLANTA, Jan. 16, 2024 — Miller Zell is again proud to be a sponsor for and participant in two important upcoming charitable events: the 2024 Special Olympics Georgia Indoor Winter Games on Jan. 26 – 27 and the seventh annual “Battle for the Brain” lip sync competition on Feb. 1 at the Coca-Cola Roxy at The Battery.
And we’ve added a third, as “Diamond Sponsors” for the “Go for Red” 10th Annual Women’s Heart Health Event, on Feb. 3, organized by The Rouse Foundation.
The lip sync event, organized by Daughters Against Alzheimer’s, benefits Emory University’s Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. A Miller Zell team will again participate in the showcase, as we did last year, when we raised over $52,000 for the event.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. For more information, to purchase tickets or to donate, here is our team link.
For the Special Olympics, Miller Zell is a year-round state games sponsor. Miller Zell CEO Chip Miller is a member of the Special Olympics Georgia Board of Directors. “Go for Red” is a lunch-and-learn seminar featuring Dr. Charlie Rouse, co-founder and president of The Rouse Foundation.
“Supporting these great causes and events has become a New Year tradition for Miller Zell associates,” Miller said. “Each is inspiring and a lot of fun. Our lip sync team has a lot to live up to after a great show last year, while our volunteers cherish the joyous experience of the Special Olympians. ‘Go for Red’ provides a great venue to help underserved and impoverished communities.”
Thus far, Miller Zell associates who have signed up for the Special Olympics include: Miller, John Cianfaglione, Lori Jones, Brenda Favors, Tina Chadwick, Julie Young, Snehal Shah, Kamal Mohanty, Illona Sanders, Sharon Cooper, Kenyevtte Joyce, Lavina Moss, Tore Lomax, Suzanne Kissel and Nichole Silva.
Participants in the lip sync include: Cianfaglione, Jones, Cooper, Chadwick, Silva, Joyce, Carmen Arnold, Charlotte Walker, Cherry Del Rosario, Donnie Norman, Grace Wells, Heather Cross, Liana Ruiz, Mel Johnson, Roni Barker and Shaneka Hardy.
Stagehands include Arthur Alaniz, Jeff Kapas and Tory Jones, while Qianna Simmons and Tatianna Morris will provide volunteer support.
