Maternity Shoot At Home Outfit Ideas

Sydne Style wears calvin klein bra for maternity shoot at home outfit ideas

When I was 30 weeks pregnant, my photographer Mun flew down to San Diego for a day of shooting my pregnant belly. We had so many ideas but because I was so stressed with things going on during the pregnancy, we decided to keep things simple. While it was high sun, we shot inside. And then after a long late lunch, we headed to the beach (more on that soon). If you’re looking for inspo on what to wear to photograph your bump in the comfort of your bedroom or living room, here are my maternity shoot at home outfit ideas:

Baggy Jeans & Button-Down

Being a California girl, I’m all about denim. When I’m not pregnant, I live in jeans and button-downs. So it made sense to carry my everyday uniform into maternity as well. Some women borrow their partner’s jeans to achieve the look. Luckily, baggy jeans were super in last year. So I had one pair of denim that I was able to slip above my thighs in my beginning of my third trimester.

I love the look of denim on denim. So I paired my unbuttoned jeans with my favorite denim maternity shirt. But you can do any oversized button-down shirt you have in your closet.

Sports Bra & Boy short Set

The female body is truly remarkable. So I’m all for pregnant women posing in the nude with their bump. Personally, I’m not totally comfortable with showing it all. So a sporty underwear set felt more up my alley. Being a ’90s child, I alluded to some of my favorite Calvin Klein ads with my bralette and boy shorts. But there are plenty of options without logos as well. I did a mix of the set on its own, as well as paired with my favorite white maternity button-down shirt.

My biggest advice for a maternity shoot at home? Have fun! Mun and I played music and laughed. We brought the pups into the mix for cuddles and licks. And just celebrated baby while snapping photos. No matter what you wear, as long as you wear a smile and proudly show off your pump, the photos will turn out beautifully.
