Kate Middleton is ‘Queen of Green’ in emerald dress at Wimbledon

Kate Middleton scored a fashion hat-trick by wearing green to the Wimbledon Final on Sunday.

The Princess of Wales has worn three different shades of green to the three championship matches she’s attended this year. On Sunday, she opted for an emerald dress by Roland Mouret.

She accessorised her green dress with a new pair of earrings from Milina London, her neutral coloured clutch from Emmy London, her Victoria Beckham sunglasses and her Gianvito Rossi pumps.

Earlier this month, she chose a mint green blazer by Balmain for her first visit to Wimbledon. And just one day prior to the men’s final, she watched the ladies’ final wearing a lime green dress by Self-Portrait.

I expect it’s a coincidence that the Princess has chosen green for all three visits. Though, of course, green is one of the two colours associated with Wimbledon—the tournament’s brand colours are green and purple. Though, we do know that green is Kate’s favourite colour—she’s told a few members of the public she loves the hue because it reminds her of nature.

She looked picture perfect, as ever, in the Royal Box as she watched Serbian Novak Djokovic play Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz on Centre Court.

She didn’t attend solo. She brought along her husband William and their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Prince Louis missed out on the action, no doubt watching from home.

Kate held hands with Charlotte as they found their seats in the Royal Box:

The young Princess looked adorable in her floral blue dress. Prince George wore a complementing suit, finished with an All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club tie (the club hosts the Wimbledon Championship).

It looked like the siblings really enjoyed their visit.

At one point, Princess Charlotte put on a pair of sunglasses, mirroring her mother.

Following the match, Kate, in her role as Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, awarded the trophy to a triumphant Alcaraz, who beat Djokovic to the title.

Kate Middleton’s Wimbledon Outfit:

Knowing she’d be performing royal duties like handing out trophies and meeting staff, the Princess opted for a sleek and stylish dress by Roland Mouret.

The sheath dress is a masterclass in tailoring, a signature of Roland Mouret’s designs. It features a ruffle detail on the bodice, which adds a touch of femininity to the dress. The cady fabric gives the dress a structured yet comfortable feel. The short sleeves are perfect for summer.

Here’s a closer look at the garment:

At the time of writing, the dress is still available to buy from:

Matches Fashion (£750 / $1100)

MyTheresa (£823 / $929)

Roland Mouret is a label that’s known for its rigorously tailored silhouettes and classic sophistication. Kate’s clearly a fan. She wears the French designer’s creations regularly. Recently, she’s taken to wearing his trousers and suits, as well as his dresses.

Let’s look at Kate’s neutral coloured handbag now. It’s by Emmy London, the Natasha bag in blush.

Made from kid suede, the elegant hand-crafted clutch opens to reveal a soft neutral oyster suede lining and a zip pocket. The clutch is roomy enough for essentials and fastens with a secure magnetic popper. They’re handcrafted in Portugal.

The blush pink colour of the bag is a great neutral tone that goes with anything, as Kate has demonstrated (she’s worn it with emerald green, lime green, white and cream to date).

The bag features a detachable gold and leather chain strap, which Kate used again today (in the last ten years, I’ve never seen her carry her Natasha bags with their chains, until this weekend).

Kate’s clearly a fan of Emmy London and the Natasha is a mainstay of her collection. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, she owns the design in at least 14 colours.

Let’s take a look at Kate’s sunglasses now. They’re a recent addition to her collection. She debuted the eyewear at the Ladies Wimbledon Final yesterday. They are the VB644S model in black by Victoria Beckham.

The sunglasses feature a chic rectangular frame shape. They;re made from injected acetate, a material known for its durability and lightweight feel, making them perfect for all-day wear.

These sunglasses offer 100% UV protection, safeguarding the eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays.

I’ve found the sunglasses at Eyeconic (use the colour selector to switch from khaki to black) for $314 and SmartBuyGlasses for £202.

On to Kate’s earrings. They’re the Green Onyx Gemstone Earrings from Milina London.

This is the first time we’ve seen the Princess wear the earrings. They are a beautiful blend of elegance and simplicity. They’re handcrafted from 18k gold-plated sterling silver and feature natural gemstones.

The design features a small round stone on top with a triangular-shaped stone drop underneath, and easy-to-wear hooks. The green onyx gemstones add a touch of vibrant colour that can complement any outfit.

Find the earrings at milinalondon.com for £45.00, pre-order only at the moment.

Kate brought back her gold toque bangle from Halcyon Days.

Bangle from Halcyon Days.

She debuted the item yesterday, at the Ladies’ finals. It looks like the Salamander style. I think she wears it in forget-me-not.

Halcyon Days says the bangle “lends itself beautifully both to stacking with other styles or wearing solo.” RRP £150 at halcyondays.com.

And last but not least, let’s look at Kate’s heels. She brought back her Gianvito Rossi 105 pumps in bisque suede.

The shoes feature a pointed toe and a sleek stiletto heel that measures 105mm. They slip on the foot and have a low vamp, providing a comfortable and stylish fit. They are crafted from 100% leather, including the outer, lining, and sole, ensuring durability and quality.

Kate debuted the shoes in Jamaica as part of the Platinum Jubilee Tour in March 2022. She’s worn them four times in total now.
