Featured in Issue 30, Dr. Tyeasha Williams and Jeffrey Wiley celebrated their engagement with a stylish, high-fashion photo shoot at the Miami Vizcaya Museum and the Miami Design District.
From the views of Biscayne Bay at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens to the fashionable backdrops of the Miami Design District like Dior and Prada, Tyeasha and Jeffs’s engagement session was stylish and steamy.
The couple, who first met while Tyeasha was a nurse at Duke Hosptial in 2008, lost touch when Tyeasha went on to pursue her Nurse practitioner and doctorate degrees. However, when she returned in 2017, they reconnected and have been together ever since!
On December 11th, 2021, Jeff gifted his soon-to-be fiancée a ring pop in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Dressed up as Mr. and Mrs. Claus, Tyeasha turned to show her friends the humorous gift Jeff had given her. Little did she know, he had another gift up his sleeves.
When I turned around to continue handing out our gifts, he asked ‘Was the ring pop good enough?’, and then asked, ‘Will you take this one instead?’ As he put the real ring on my finger, I said Yes!!

How did you meet?
We first met when I was a nurse at Duke Hospital in 2008. I then left Duke to pursue my Nurse Practitioner and doctorate degree a few years later. When I returned in 2017, we crossed paths again and have been together ever since.
What did you do on your first date?
We went to a comedy show to see Sheryl Underwood.
Tell us your proposal story:
He proposed on December 11th, 2021, in Myrtle Beach, SC surrounded by friends. We had planned to hand out gifts to our friends, dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
Prior to handing out the “gifts” to our friends, he told me he had a gift for me. He then took out a ring box and said,” It’s not what you think it is,” and when he opened the box, it was a ring pop. After he put it on my finger, I turned around to show it to our friends.
Little did I know, as I was laughing about the ring pop with friends with my back turned to him, he had gotten down on one knee. When I turned around to continue handing out our gifts, he asked was the ring pop good enough, and then asked, ”Will you take this one instead?” As he put the real ring on my finger, I said Yes!!
When did you know you found “the one”?
There was no one moment. After reflecting on all our memorable moments, I realized she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. She has made me a better person.
Describe your engagement session. Did you have a theme?
We were interested in a destination engagement photoshoot. I sent my photographer our inspiration photos and she began brainstorming our vision. The shoot took place in two different locations in Miami with two different looks.
It was a little stressful leading up to the shoot, due to the logistics of a destination shoot, 8 hours from our home, but it was worth it in the end. It was extremely hot but fun. We enjoyed the experience. We worked with an awesome group of professionals and the images speak for themselves!
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
We love to host epic parties at our house for family and friends!
How has wedding planning been so far?
It has been an amazing experience, despite being displaced from our home due to a garage fire.
