Fall in the Northeast evokes wanderlust and adventure. The landscape is a masterpiece of fiery reds, burnt oranges, and rich golds, and the crisp air beckons a country road trip through falling leaves.Connecticut, with its charming villages and stunning foliage, is my go-to during this season. The Auberge Mayflower resort is the perfect place to soak in all the autumn beauty. What I adore most about fall is the sense of renewal —sipping hot apple cider, cozying up in rustic inns, and chasing the ever-elusive “peak foliage.” It’s a time when I can reconnect with nature, discover hidden gems, and create lasting memories.
A trip upstate isn’t complete without adventuring into some of Hudson Valley’s most picturesque towns. Beacon, in particular, is a gem you shouldn’t miss. Beacon’s dining scene is a foodie’s paradise. Pop into The Roundhouse, a chic restaurant with river views that serve up farm-to-table goodness. And for a cozy, relaxed vibe, there’s the Beacon Bread Company, where you can indulge in artisanal bread and delectable pastries. If you’re there on a Sunday, don’t miss their farmers market!
Just a little more north east, you will find my favorite town for vintage shopping, Millbrook. It’s an absolute must! The town is a treasure trove for vintage aficionados. Swing by Millbrook Antique Mall, where you’ll unearth all sorts of treasures so you can bring a touch of Hudson Valley’s charm home with you. Millbrook has that quintessential small-town charm, and you’ll love every minute of it.
If you haven’t embarked on your upstate roadtrip yet, here are a few more spots to stop and shop for antiques

With fall being one of my favorite times of year, it’s naturally is one of my favorites to dress for! When it comes to fall attire, I love nothing more than some strong neutrals that match the beautiful colors of the season. By playing with textures, it brings dimension to a more monochromatic look. Whether it may be leather, suede, knits, or twill I love to mix and match them.
Here are some key pieces I love to have in my fall wardrobe:
Leather Skirts:
- A leather skirt can be a versatile addition to your fall wardrobe. Pair it with a tucked-in blouse, tights, and knee-high boots for a chic and cozy look.
- Consider a leather midi skirt for a more modest and trendy option.
Suede Boots:
- Suede boots, especially ankle or knee-high styles, are perfect for fall. They pair well with jeans, leggings, or dresses.
- Choose earthy, fall-inspired colors like brown, olive, or burgundy for your suede boots.
Patterned Jackets:
- A light jacket with a print helps to break up an otherwise neutral look. I love a good plaid, tweed, or floral.
Coordinating Accessories:
- Incorporate leather and suede accessories like belts, handbags, and gloves to your outfits for a touch of texture and sophistication.
- A suede floppy hat or leather gloves can be functional and stylish in cooler weather.
