MCM and A Bathing Ape have teamed up for a spring/summer 2024 capsule collection, celebrating the Year of the Dragon for Lunar New Year.
The collaboration merges BAPE’s iconic logo with MCM’s classic Visetos, showcasing a variety of leather bags.
Designs include a golden dragon motif mixed with BAPE’s STA logo on popular MCM silhouettes like the Backpack, Belt Bag, Crossbody, Boston, Weekender, North-South Tote, and handheld Pouch.
Each piece is adorned with sturdy gunmetal hardware and bold dual-branded iconography.
MCM’s president, Sabine Brunner, said of the collaboration:
“Both brands complement one another as they achieved prominence through their natural proximity with the global streetwear movement – MCM finding a renaissance in the New York hip-hop community of the ’80s, and BAPE coming of age during the explosion of Tokyo’s Harajuku scene in the ’90s. It is a true celebration of luxury streetwear that captures the essence of the Zeitgeist.”
The collection is now available online and select retail stores.
