Last year in Brian Kelly’s first season in Death Valley, LSU took down Alabama 32-31 in overtime, securing its place as champions of the SEC West. Could the same thing happen this year?
After a loss to Texas in the second week of the season, Alabama has bounced back, staying undefeated in conference play with a revenge win over Tennessee. Jalen Milroe hasn’t been the standout QB Alabama is used to, but the sophomore has settled into his starting position after some uncertainty in the first few weeks.
Nick Saban always brings a challenge, but so does Jayden Daniels. He’s not only statistically the best QB in the SEC but in the nation. The Tiger leads in total offense, averaging 386.8 yards per game. He is silently but surely rising to the top of the Heisman odds, and a win over a top-10 team could do the trick in a tight race.
More importantly, a win over Alabama would help LSU’s chances at another trip to the SEC Championship. Alabama is undefeated in conference play, while the Tigers have one loss (Ole Miss). It could all come down to Saturday.
