The Fair Labor Standards Act sets the minimum hiring age at 14 years old, plus it limits the number of hours minors under 16 years old can work and the jobs they can do. Sometimes, kids who are at least 14 years old can get a work permit or age certificate prior to applying for certain jobs. There are other laws that might prevent a 14- or 15-year-old from getting hired, but most chain stores leave the hiring decisions to the franchise owners. McDonald’s

Bruster’s

If you have a teenager with a friendly attitude and who enjoys smelling like a waffle cone, then Bruster’s is the job for them. The ice cream retailer hires teens under 16 years old, depending on which state the store is located.

California Pizza Kitchen

To work at California Pizza Kitchen, you must be 15 years old for host positions. If you want to work as a server, you’ll need to be 18 years old to serve alcohol.

Panera Bread

While some positions require a minimum age of 16, some Panera Bread Team Member jobs are available to teens who are at least 15 years old, depending on the state.

Taco Bell
