The Cincinnati Bengals received positive news on the injury report on Wednesday as defensive end Joseph Ossai returned to practice in a limited fashion.
Ossai, 23, suffered a high ankle sprain in the Bengals’ preseason finale. He was ruled out ahead of Cincinnati’s season-opener against the Browns after not practicing all week.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor hinted Ossai was heading in the right direction when he was asked about the third-year player on Monday.
“He is day to day right now,” Taylor said. “We’ll see where he is at. I don’t want to make any guesses but he had a really good week last week.”
Ossai’s return to the field could provide a boost to the Bengals’ defensive line against a banged-up Baltimore Ravens’ offensive line. Left tackle Ronnie Stanley and center Tyler Linderbaum are not likely to play in the Week 2 contest due to injuries.
In other injury news, defensive end Cam Sample (ankle) didn’t practice. Linebacker Logan Wilson (ankle) popped up on the injury report as a limited participant. Running back Chris Evans (hamstring) participated in a limited capacity.
Quarterback Joe Burrow was a full participant in practice. The Bengals will pracitce on Thursday and Friday before taking on the Ravens (1-0) at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
